What can you do with Image Transform?
Remove backgrounds from logos and icons
Upload a logo with a solid or noisy background and get a clean PNG with transparency. The background removal uses machine learning that runs directly in your browser. Your images are never sent to a server.
Generate a complete favicon set
Drop in your logo and get every favicon size a modern website needs: ICO (multi-resolution), 16x16, 32x32, 180x180 for Apple touch icons, 192x192 and 512x512 for PWA manifests. One upload, all sizes, ready to copy into your project.
Convert between PNG, JPG, WebP, and SVG
Need a PNG version of an SVG logo? A WebP for faster web loading? A traced SVG from a raster image? Select the output format and hit Transform. Batch convert multiple files at once. Also accepts HEIC photos from iPhones.
Create light and dark theme variants
Toggle the variant option to generate both light-on-dark and dark-on-light versions of your images. Useful when you need logo variants for light mode and dark mode interfaces.
Why does this tool exist?
I got tired of the same cycle. Search for “remove background from logo.” Land on a site. Watch it process my image. Get hit with a paywall, a watermark, or a signup form. Repeat with the next tool. Three of them want $9.99/month for something that takes a browser two seconds to compute locally.
So I built this with Claude Code in an evening. No ads. No upsells. No accounts. No analytics tracking what you upload. The images stay on your machine because every operation runs client-side in JavaScript and WebAssembly.
If you do product marketing, developer relations, or content work, you probably resize logos and generate favicons more often than you'd like to admit. This tool is for you.
How does Image Transform work?
- 1Drop your images. Drag files onto the drop zone or click to browse. Accepts PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, ICO, and HEIC. Add as many files as you want.
- 2Pick your settings. Choose an output format (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, or favicon set). Toggle background removal. Toggle light/dark variants.
- 3Hit Transform. Everything processes in your browser. Download individual files or grab the whole batch as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove the background from a logo?
Upload your logo image, toggle the “Remove background” option, select your output format (PNG is best for transparency), and click Transform. The background removal runs entirely in your browser using machine learning. No image data is sent to any server.
How do I generate a favicon set from a logo?
Upload your logo, select “Convert to favicon set” as the action, and click Transform. Image Transform generates all the sizes you need: ICO (multi-size), 16x16, 32x32, 180x180 (Apple touch icon), 192x192, and 512x512 (PWA icons). Download them individually or as a ZIP.
What image formats are supported?
Image Transform accepts PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, SVG, ICO, HEIC, and HEIF files as input. It can convert to PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, or a complete favicon set. HEIC files from iPhones are automatically converted before processing. Background removal works with all raster formats.
Is this tool really free?
Yes. No ads, no upsells, no watermarks, no signup. I built it because I needed it and every alternative was gated behind something annoying. It costs me nothing to run because your browser does all the work.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every operation runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your images never leave your machine. There is no server processing, no cloud storage, and no tracking of what you upload.
Can I convert PNG to SVG?
Yes. Select “Convert to SVG” as the action. Image Transform traces raster images into vector SVG format. This works best with logos, icons, and simple graphics. Photographs or complex images produce large SVG files and are better kept as raster formats.
Can I open iPhone photos (HEIC files)?
Yes. Image Transform accepts HEIC and HEIF files from iPhones and iPads. They are automatically converted to PNG before processing, so you can then convert them to any other format or remove their backgrounds like any other image.
Is the background removal perfect?
Not always. I found a few edge cases that are really complex. But for most logos or stock illustrations you find, it will do the job. Simple graphics with solid backgrounds get the best results. Photographic backgrounds with hair or fine detail are harder for any tool, and this one is no exception.
