Alternatives to a DevRel agency

I am not a developer relations agency. I do not staff advocates, run your community, or take a monthly retainer to look like an in-house team. If that is what you need, hire people or hire a firm that does that work. This page is for the other cases: you need the method, a team that can run it, or a short conversation about a specific problem.

When an agency is the wrong buy

An agency makes sense when you need standing capacity you do not have: people at events, a community calendar, a content engine that ships every week. It is the wrong buy when the real gap is positioning, messaging, or a team that does not yet know how to talk to developers. Capacity on top of a fuzzy story just publishes more of the same.

What I actually sell

  • Picks and Shovels. The book. Help First, launches, content, and the work of marketing to developers. Buy this when the team needs a shared text.
  • The digital bundle at $19.95, or the bundle plus one hour at $499.95. Buy the hour when one decision is stuck.
  • AI marketing training at $1,500 for up to five people. Buy this when the team has to change how it works, not just read about it.
  • Advisory, priced per engagement. I am not looking for a full-time job and I am not building an agency. If you want a conversation, start at About and then write hello@strategicnerds.com.

What I will not do

I will not pretend a book or a half-day session is a substitute for hiring advocates. I will not staff your booth. I will not take a brief to "do DevRel" and disappear into a Slack channel. If those are the jobs, they need people who show up every week.
