MCPBar is a macOS menu bar application that helps you manage and interact with MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how MCPBar handles your data.

Data collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our servers.

MCPBar operates entirely on your local machine. All data processed by the application remains on your device.

How MCPBar works

MCPBar connects to MCP servers that you configure locally. The application:

Reads configuration files stored on your Mac
Communicates directly with MCP servers you have authorized
Processes all data locally without sending anything to Strategic Nerds servers

Data storage

All configuration and operational data is stored locally on your Mac. This includes:

MCP server configurations
Connection preferences
Application settings

We have no access to this data.

Credentials and authentication

Any credentials or API keys you configure for MCP servers are stored securely in your Mac's Keychain. We never have access to these credentials.

Third-party services

MCPBar connects to MCP servers that you configure. You should review the privacy policies of any MCP server providers you choose to use.

Analytics and crash reporting

MCPBar does not currently include any analytics or crash reporting. If we add these features in the future, we will update this policy and notify users.

Your control

You have complete control over your data:

Uninstall MCPBar to remove all local application data

Delete configuration files from your system preferences
Remove credentials from your Mac's Keychain

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the application or our website.
