Conjugator

Overview

Conjugator is a language learning app that helps you translate, conjugate verbs, and learn from your usage history. This policy explains how Conjugator handles your data across the web app, iOS app, and macOS menu bar app.

Data collection

Conjugator collects the following data when you use the service:

  • Account information: Your email address and display name, provided during account creation
  • Profile preferences: Your native language, learning language, translation style preferences, and pronunciation settings
  • Translation history: Source text, translated text, and language pairs for translations you perform
  • Conjugation history: Verbs you conjugate and their language
  • Learning data: Lesson cards generated from your history, quiz results, and completion status
  • Avatar image: If you upload a profile photo, it is stored in our cloud storage
  • Credit transactions: Records of credit purchases and usage

How your data is used

Your data is used exclusively to provide the Conjugator service:

  • Translations and conjugations are saved to build your personal learning experience
  • Your history is analyzed to generate personalized lesson cards
  • Profile preferences are used to set default languages and display settings
  • Credit balances are tracked to manage your usage

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising purposes.

On-device processing

When available, Conjugator uses on-device translation and AI processing. Text processed on-device never leaves your device. On-device processing is used for:

  • Apple Translation framework for supported language pairs
  • Apple Foundation Models for conjugation and translation refinement (iOS 26+ and macOS 26+)

When on-device processing is not available, requests are sent to our servers for processing via OpenAI.

Data storage

Conjugator uses Supabase for data storage and authentication. All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security policies ensuring you can only access your own data. Avatar images are stored in Supabase Storage.

Third-party services

Conjugator uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Authentication, database, and file storage
  • OpenAI: Translation, conjugation, and lesson generation when on-device processing is not available
  • Stripe: Payment processing for credit purchases (web)
  • Apple StoreKit: In-app purchases (iOS and macOS)
  • Resend: Transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)

Payment information

Conjugator does not store credit card numbers or payment details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe (web) or Apple (iOS/macOS). We only receive confirmation of successful transactions.

Your control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Delete individual translations or conjugations from your history at any time
  • Mark translations as favorites or remove them
  • Update your profile information and preferences
  • Delete your account to remove all stored data
  • Upload, change, or remove your avatar photo

Children's privacy

Conjugator is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
