Meeting Notifier
Overview
Meeting Notifier is a macOS menu bar application that alerts you to upcoming calendar events from Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Meeting Notifier handles your data.
Data collection
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our servers.
Meeting Notifier operates entirely on your local machine. All data processed by the application remains on your device.
How Meeting Notifier works
Meeting Notifier connects directly to your calendar provider (Google or Microsoft) using OAuth authentication. The application:
- Authenticates with your calendar provider using industry-standard OAuth 2.0
- Fetches upcoming events from your calendars
- Displays meeting information and sends timely notifications
- Processes all data locally without sending anything to Strategic Nerds servers
Calendar data handling
Meeting Notifier accesses only the data needed to notify you of upcoming meetings:
- Event titles and descriptions
- Start and end times
- Meeting locations and video call links
- Attendee information
Calendar data is fetched directly from your provider and processed locally. Nothing is transmitted to our servers.
Data storage
Calendar data is cached locally on your Mac for performance and offline access. This includes:
- Upcoming events for the configured time period
- Calendar metadata and preferences
This cached data is stored only on your device. We have no access to it.
Credentials and authentication
Meeting Notifier uses OAuth 2.0, the industry-standard secure authentication protocol. This means:
- You sign in directly with Google or Microsoft
- We never see or store your account password
- OAuth tokens are stored securely in your Mac's Keychain
Third-party services
Meeting Notifier connects to:
- Google Calendar - Review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy
- Microsoft Outlook - Review Microsoft's privacy policy at privacy.microsoft.com
Analytics and crash reporting
Meeting Notifier does not currently include any analytics or crash reporting. If we add these features in the future, we will update this policy and notify users.
Your control
You have complete control over your data:
- Revoke Meeting Notifier's access through your Google or Microsoft account security settings
- Uninstall Meeting Notifier to remove all local application data
- Remove OAuth tokens from your Mac's Keychain
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the application or our website.
