Common questions

How do I connect my email account?

Click the Mail Notifier icon in your menu bar and select "Add Account." Choose your email provider (Gmail or Microsoft) and follow the prompts to authorize access.

Why aren't I receiving notifications?

Check the following:

  • Ensure Mail Notifier has notification permissions in System Settings > Notifications
  • Verify your email account is connected and authorized
  • Check your notification preferences within Mail Notifier settings

Is my email password stored?

No. Mail Notifier uses OAuth 2.0 authentication. You sign in directly with Google or Microsoft, and we never see your password. Only secure tokens are stored in your Mac's Keychain.

Can I connect multiple email accounts?

Yes, you can connect multiple Gmail and Microsoft accounts. Add each account through the settings menu.

How do I disconnect an email account?

Go to Mail Notifier settings, select the account, and click "Remove." You can also revoke access from your Google or Microsoft account security settings.

How often does Mail Notifier check for new emails?

By default, Mail Notifier checks every few minutes. You can adjust the frequency in the settings.
